This section contains a description of the policy indicators used in the Report Card and their data sources. These indicators measure what states are doing to ensure women's access to health care services, the degree to which they support preventive health care and health-promoting activities, address the occurrence of key women's health conditions, and the extent to which states promote and encourage communities that enhance the health and well-being of women. The indicators are addressed in the order in which they appear on the state report cards.
