The National Women’s Law Center is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization working to expand opportunities and eliminate barriers for women and their families, with a major emphasis on women’s health, education and employment opportunities, and family economic security.
The Oregon Health & Science University Center for Women's Health is committed to exemplary clinical care, research, community health outreach, professional education and leadership. As one of 20 federally-designated National Centers of Excellence in Women's Health, the CWH serves as a national model of innovative, comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and integrated health care for women.
Making the Grade on Women’s Health is a collaborative endeavor that relies upon the work of many individuals. At the National Women’s Law Center, the primary authors of the 2007 Report Card —Judy Waxman, Elizabeth Patchias, and Marcia D. Greenberger—were greatly assisted by Gretchen Borchelt, Malinda Ellwood, Paige Herwig, Andrea L. Irwin, Julia Kaye, Lisa M. LeMair, Jen Makrides, James Mathieson, Rhonda McIntyre-Malone, Jill C. Morrison, Chad Newcomb, Rose O’Malley, and Lauren Seemeyer. At Oregon Health & Science University, the primary author was Michelle Berlin. Colleen Goodman and Al Meltzer of Quality Resource Systems Inc. also contributed greatly to this report.
The major funder of the Report Card is the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation. Additional support was provided by the Ford Foundation, Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund, George Gund Foundation, Herb Block Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Charles Evans Hughes Foundation, John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Moriah Fund, Ms. Foundation for Women, Open Society Institute, Overbrook Foundation, and the Scherman Foundation.
